Family Story and Situation:
Shamara works one-on-one with children with autism and loves her work, but because her hours depend on client schedules, she recently lost a significant portion of her income. After weeks without steady hours and no new case available, she fell behind on bills and lost both her apartment and her car. She used all her savings trying to provide for herself and her daughter and is now staying with different people for short periods at a time.
Even with a new part time case, she is struggling to regain stability while managing the emotional weight of homelessness and unreliable transportation. She is grateful to still be working, but fears losing her job if she cannot secure a way to get to work consistently. She expressed that the mental strain has been heavy, but she is trying to hold on in faith for better days.
