Family Story and Situation:
Amber shared that she and her husband were both employed until September, but after the government shutdown, her husband has been unable to secure work. Even though Amber works full time β€” and just accepted a second part-time job β€” the family is now two months behind on rent and struggling to keep up with bills. She said they have been relying on local blessing boxes for groceries and often cannot reach food banks before they close after her shift.
Amber expressed how difficult it has been to admit she needs help, saying she feels like she is failing her children. She is doing everything she can to keep her home stable, but the financial strain continues to grow. Her deepest desire is simply to give her daughters a Christmas gift so they don’t feel the weight of the situation the way she does.
