How It Started — and Where God Is Leading Us

Published: 6-12-2025

My name is Gary Caudill, a bi-vocational pastor based in Thomson, Georgia, serving at Washington Heights Baptist Church. I also operate a family-run web design business and co-lead In Flight Missions. Joining me on this journey is my son Caleb — a young man with a tender heart for ministry and a growing passion for missions. This trip marks a pivotal step in our shared calling to serve the Lord together, and we’re stepping out by faith, trusting God to guide every detail.

This all began with a vivid, Spirit-filled dream. Just here me out please.  One night, I saw Amy and me standing on Navajo land, preparing to purchase a facility that, in the dream, was designed to feed up to 15,000 children a day. I woke up saturated in the presence of God — something that has accompanied previous dreams He’s given me over the years which later came to pass.  I understand some will be skeptical; trust me, I was too, until they started coming to pass.

So, after prayer and research, I learned that over 15,000 children within the Navajo Nation live in adverse poverty. I had no prior knowledge of this—no connection to this people group—but this discovery deeply confirmed the Lord’s prompting to begin praying.

A few months later, I connected with a friend I met during a mission trip to Ecuador. He shared plans to visit New Mexico with his church. That conversation stirred something in me, but while their focus wasn't specifically the Navajo people, I couldn't shake the sense that God was pulling my heart toward them.

I then reached out to the North American Mission Board (SBC) and was connected with individuals who are now preparing to introduce us directly to tribal pastors and leaders—both within the Navajo Nation and among neighboring tribes. Through these divine connections, it became clear that we were being led to go. Our flight is booked for June 29–July 5.

This is a survey trip — a journey to build relationships, pray over the land, and discern what specific ministries God is calling us to begin, support, or simply witness. We’re asking the Lord for spiritual insight, open doors, and divine clarity.

Our hearts are burdened not only for the souls but also for the economic oppression so many face. One possible future project includes helping Navajo artisans launch an online marketplace to bring national visibility to their locally handcrafted goods — baskets, clothing, and more — in a way that honors their culture and supports their families.

How You Can Help

Above all, we covet your prayers:
  • For safety — both in the air and on the ground
  • For favor with those we meet
  • For wisdom to see and hear what God wants us to
  • For Holy Spirit confirmation on every step

We’re not asking for a set amount of money. We’re asking that, if God stirs your heart to give, you do so in obedience. We’re trusting Him to supply every need — as we go.

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations...” (Matt. 28:19). That word “Go” means “as you are going.” And so, we go—by faith.
